DEER WOMAN MONUMENT PROJECT
A 10 foot bronze sculpture to raise awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW)
Cover Image by Hudson Rennaker
WHO IS DEER WOMAN?
Across many Indigenous cultures, Deer Woman is a fierce protector of women and children. She represents strength, justice, and the sacred bond between earth and spirit.
WHY THIS MONUMENT MATTERS
The MMIW crisis is a national and international tragedy. Countless Indigenous women have disappeared or have been murdered – often with little or no investigation.
This monument brings visibility, healing, and hope. Her blanket of earth holds 350 faces – each representing a life stolen, a family grieving, a community demanding change. The red handprint across her face represents the silenced voices of the MMIW. It signifies the lack of attention and action demanding justice and remembrance.

SUPPORT THE MISSION
I am currently seeking to partner with an established Indigenous nonprofit to host a fundraiser and would love suggestions on both the nonprofit and the placement of this monument; in the meantime, every donation or share makes a difference, and if you'd like to contribute directly, I’m accepting donations via Zelle and Venmo.
